Who I am and why it aint what you do it’s the way that you do it (just a Bananarama reference)

Hello there, thanks for coming to my blog space. I'm Rosie, a 45 year old passionate advocate for women's midlife wellness, dog lover, mother of a 20 year old, with personal experience of early menopause at 42. I wanted to write a post about who I am and why I do what I do. So, keeping reading to find out how I ended up here and why it’s all relevant.

One of my favourite things is to have a laugh (and dogs, always dogs!). I love music but if I’m watching a live show, it will generally be a stand up show. I love having fun, messing around, having a bit of a dance, Joy is one of life’s greatest pleasures and I try to bring it to everything I do, although it might be accompanied by a dad joke and a weird move. Having said that music is a big part of my sessions, expect powerful music that will help you feel pumped up and ready kick the door down.

My journey to becoming a perimenopause wellness expert has been a wiggly worm of a path. But I am now here and pleased to be offering people the benefits of my study and personal experience.

At 39, I found I needed to address my relationship with alcohol. Those evening relaxing glasses of prosecco and g&t’s weren’t soothing my anxieties but were massively contributing to them. So, I went on a journey to freedom from alcohol, full of all of the pink fluffy clouds that you read about…until one day, those same old anxieties came back. Huh! Not fun and no booze to blame! I didn’t realise at the time, but I was in perimenopause.

Alongside my sobriety journey I started going to the gym more. I’ve always dabbled but never found my groove with it. In sobriety I was loving learning about the gym, going to HiiT classes, running, stairmaster – I’d do it all and feel great.

After having COVID and finding out that I wasn’t just perimenopausal. I was menopausal my time at the gym became harder.  Hitting a double Hiit session hard, was leaving me done in.

My background as an art teacher, has given me lots of experience working and supporting people to achieve goals they didn’t think possible. But embarking on my own journey led me to re-evaluate my life's purpose. Pivotal moments including confronting my own relationship with alcohol and navigating the complexities of early menopause at 43 led to me retraining.

From my experiences and desire to support women navigating similar phases in life, I transitioned using my background in mentoring and coaching teenagers to empower women transitioning into a new phase of their lives.

I’m now equipped with qualifications in personal training, menopause coaching, women's coaching.  I’m a certified mental health first aider and currently working my way through a CPD Mindset menotring certificate. I believe in a holistic approach to wellness, focusing on physical health, mental wellbeing, and emotional resilience. If you’ve tried programmes before, this might just be different, as I can help you understand your body, address your mindset and we’ll have fun.

I’m a fan of strength training and the power of using heavy weights, I follow Dr Stay Sims Lift Heavy Shit method and use all the scientific knowledge I’ve gained to help you get the most emotional and physical benefits from the time you have available.

Through personalised training, targeted menopause coaching, and compassionate mentorship, I aim to empower you to embrace this transitional period with joy, confidence, and vitality.

My mission is to create a supportive space where people can thrive, redefine their wellness goals, and embark on this new chapter feeling empowered and in control.

Thanks  for reading about this 45 year old dog lover, mother of a 20 year old advocate of perimenopause wellness. I hope it’s helped you understand how my  personal experience of early menopause and training can help you.
